The MDF Powder Coating Process
The process from raw board to finished, touch-ready panel takes approximately 20 minutes:
- Preparation — sanding, cleaning, and moisture control of the MDF substrate
- Preheating — boards are heated to 40-85°C to improve powder adhesion
- Application — corona spray guns distribute low-cure powder in specialized booths
- Curing — 4-6 minutes at 105-130°C (significantly lower than standard metal powder coating)
- Cooling — conveyor cooling zone brings panels to handling temperature
- Unloading — panels are touch-ready immediately after cooling

Applications
