Dip Tank Pretreatment System
For batch operations — multi-stage immersion cleaning before coating
For batch operations that load parts onto racks and lower them through chemical cleaning stages before powder coating. This is the standard pretreatment method for facilities that process different part types and sizes in batches rather than on a continuous conveyor.

How Dip Tank Pretreatment Works
Parts are loaded onto racks or jigs, then lowered sequentially into a series of tanks. Each tank contains a different chemical solution — degreasing, rinsing, etching, conversion coating. The number of tanks (3 to 8+) depends on the substrate material and the corrosion resistance required by the end-use environment.
The system includes tanks, walkways for operator access, and optional crane automation for moving racks between stages. Automated crane systems reduce manual labor and ensure consistent dwell times in each tank.

Materials Handled
- Black steel and carbon steel
- Aluminium profiles and sheet
- Galvanized parts
- Cast iron components
Chemistry Options
The chemical process is configured to your substrate and quality requirements:
- Degreasing — removes oils, greases, and contaminants from manufacturing
- Phosphating — iron or zinc phosphate for adhesion and corrosion resistance on steel
- Nanotechnology — Oxsilane and Bonderite conversion coatings for chrome-free processing
- Chrome-free options — available for facilities moving away from traditional chromate chemistry
