Powder Center PM1
For operations running one or two colors per day
The Powder Center PM1 is a semi-automatic powder feed center built for shops that run one or two colors per day and need reliable, repeatable application without paying for automation they will not use. It sits between your powder supply and your automatic guns, fluidizing the powder, feeding the injectors, and keeping delivery pressure steady across a full production run. If your color schedule is stable and a fast color change is not the bottleneck in your day, the PM1 gives you clean, consistent coating at the lowest entry point in the range.
Capacity and feed
The PM1 supports up to 30 injectors and up to 24 pumps plus feed, so it scales from a compact manual booth to a wide automatic reciprocator line with banks of guns top and bottom. Each injector draws from the central powder supply at a controlled rate, which keeps film build even from the first part of a batch to the last. Sizing the injector and pump count to your gun layout is the main decision at purchase: match the channel count to the number of guns you actually run, with a little headroom if you expect to add reciprocator axes later.
Powder container and management
Powder is held in a single large fixed container that you charge with the color you are running that day. An integrated sieve screens the powder before it reaches the injectors, breaking up soft agglomerates and pulling out coarse contamination so you protect surface finish and avoid spitting at the gun tip. Because the container is fixed rather than swappable, the PM1 is at its best when one color stays loaded for hours or a full shift. When it is time to change color, you empty and clean the container before charging the next powder, which is the trade you accept for the lower purchase cost.
Color change in about 20 minutes
Color change on the PM1 takes around 20 minutes. The automatic gun-hose cleaning cycle blows out the delivery hoses and injectors so residual powder does not carry into the next color, while you manually clear and reload the fixed container. Twenty minutes is a sensible figure for one or two changes a day. If you are changing color several times per shift, the cumulative downtime adds up quickly, and our guide on PM3 feed-center color-change payback walks through how faster systems recover that lost coating time. For a one or two color schedule, the PM1 keeps capital low and gives back time where it matters.
Integration with existing equipment
The PM1 is designed to adapt to other makers' systems, so you are not forced to replace guns, controllers, or a booth you are happy with. That makes it a practical upgrade when you want better powder management and an integrated sieve without rebuilding the whole line. The automatic hose-cleaning function is built in, removing one of the most error-prone manual steps in a basic setup and making color change repeatable from operator to operator.
Where it fits in your line
The PM1 pairs naturally with a manual or automatic coating booth and a set of electrostatic spray guns, sitting upstream of the booth as the powder supply and conditioning stage. Feed it with the Powder Transfer Pump to keep the fixed container topped up from bulk boxes, and place it ahead of your curing oven so coated parts move straight from booth to cure. For shops with a steady one or two color program, the PM1 is the cost-effective foundation of a clean, consistent powder line, and it leaves a clear upgrade path to the PM2 or PM3 if your color mix grows.
